Ο 35χρονος quarterback Ράιαν Μάλετ πνίγηκε όταν κολυμπούσε στην παραλία της Φλόριντα με τους ναυαγοσώστες να μην προλαβαίνουν να τον κρατήσουν στη ζωή.

Θρήνος στον παγκόσμιο αθλητισμό από την είδηση του θανάτου του Ράιαν Μάλετ. Ο 35χρονος παλαίμαχος quarterback πνίγηκε ενώ έκανε μπάνιο στην περιοχή της Φλόριντα.

Σύμφωνα με όσα έχουν γίνει γνωστά μια ομάδα ανθρώπων παρασύρθηκε από θαλάσσια ρεύματα και δυσκολευόταν να βγει στην ακτή, με τους ναυαγοσώστες να επεμβαίνουν.

Ωστόσο, στην περίπτωση του Ράιαν Μάλετ δεν πρόλαβαν να τον σώσουν αφού είχε ήδη πνιγεί όταν έφτασαν στο σημείο. Φυσικά έγιναν προσπάθειες να τον επαναφέρουν στη ζωή δίχως όμως αποτέλεσμα.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της καριέρας του στο NFL ο Ράιαν Μάλετ αγωνίστηκε σε τρεις ομάδες. Άρχισε από τους New England Patriots όπου ήταν αναπληρωματικός του Τομ Μπρέιντι.

Έπειτα αγωνίστηκε στουςHouston Texans και τους Baltimore Ravens πριν κρεμάσει τα παπούτσια του. Στη συνέχεια ακολούθησε καριέρα προπονητή.
