Η Cigarette Racing και η Mercedes-AMG παρουσιάζουν στη φετινή Διεθνή Έκθεση Σκαφών, στο Μαϊάμι, το τελευταίο μοντέλο της μακροχρόνιας συνεργασίας τους, με κωδική ονομασία 515 Project One.

Το 515 Project One αποτελεί την εν πλώ ενσάρκωση του νέου hypercar μοντέλου της Μercedes-AMG, του Project One.

Η συνεργασία μεταξύ της Mercedes-AMG και της Cigarette Racing ξεκίνησε το 2007 και βασίζεται κυρίως, στο κοινό πελατολόγιο και τις κοινές προωθητικές ενέργειες.

Ακριβώς όπως τα αυτοκίνητα επιδόσεων της Mercedes-AMG, τα αμερικάνικα ταχύπλοα σκάφη είναι από τα ταχύτερα του είδους τους, διατίθενται επί παραγγελία, είναι κατασκευασμένα στο χέρι, ενώ είναι δοκιμασμένα σε ακραίες συνθήκες.

Το 15,6 μέτρων 515 Project One, βαμμένο στο αποκλειστικό ασημί χρώμα της AMG με μαύρες ματ λεπτομέρειες, έχει ως βάση το μοντέλο Marauder και εφοδιάζεται με δύο V8 κινητήρες της Mercury Racing, με τον κάθε ένα να αποδίδει 1.350 ίππους, υπό κανονικές συνθήκες.

Στην περίπτωση που ο χρήστης επιθυμεί ακόμα περισσότερη ισχύ, μπορεί να ενεργοποιήσει την λειτουργία Race, με την απόδοση κάθε κινητήρα να ανεβαίνει στους 1.550 ίππους.

Στο εσωτερικό φιλοξενούνται μέχρι και 6 επιβάτες, ενώ την σχεδίασή του έχει αναλάβει το AMG Performance Studio, με το σκάφος να κάνει εκτενή χρήση ανθρακονήματος, μειώνοντας έτσι το βάρος, σε σχέση με άλλα μοντέλα της κατηγορίας, κατά 2.200 κιλά.

Από την άλλη, το Mercedes-AMG Project One διαθέτει τον υπερτροφοδοτούμενο, με μονό turbo, V6 κινητήρα των 1.6 lt και 4 συνολικά ηλεκτροκινητήρες, όμοιο με αυτόν που εφοδίαζε την προηγούμενη χρονιά το μονοθέσιο W08 EQ Power+ των Lewis Hamilton και Valtteri Bottas...
