Πετσέτες οι οποίες ήταν γεμάτες με παγάκια, ένα ειδικό γιλέκο το οποίο είχε και αυτό μέσα πάγο και ένας μικρός ανεμιστήρας χρησιμοποιήθηκαν από τον Ναδάλ για να αντιμετωπίσει τη ζέστη.

Η αφόρητη ζέστη και η υγρασία δημιούργησαν για μία ακόμα ημέρα πολλά προβλήματα στο US Open. Λίγες ώρες μετά τις διαμαρτυρίες του Ρότζερ Φέντερερ για την τρομερή ζέστη και την έλλειψη αέρα, αλλά και την ακύρωση όλων των αγώνων στα Juniors, ήρθε η εικόνα του Ναδάλ να δημιουργήσει νέο κύκλο αντιπαράθεσης για τις συνθήκες που επικρατούν στο τουρνουά.

Κατά τη διάρκεια του αγώνα του με τον Ντομινίκ Τιμ, ο Ράφα Ναδάλ έκανε ότι μπορούσε για να δροσιστεί.

Όπως θα δείτε και στις φωτογραφίες που ακολουθούν του έφεραν πετσέτες οι οποίες ήταν γεμάτες με παγάκια, ένα ειδικό γιλέκο το οποίο είχε και αυτό μέσα πάγο, ενώ είχε επιστρατευτεί και ένας μικρός ανεμιστήρας.

Για να καταλάβει κανείς τις συνθήκες κάτω από τις οποίες έπαιζαν οι δύο αθλητές αρκεί να τονίσουμε πως η θερμοκρασία σε όλη τη διάρκεια του αγώνα ήταν σταθερά πάνω από τους 30 βαθμούς κελσίου, ενώ η υγρασία δεν έπεσε κάτω από το 70%!
