Μονακό και Ρωσία αγνοούν την απόφαση της Liberty Media και όπως έγινε γνωστό θα έχουν κανονικά τα Grid Girls δίπλα στα μονοθέσια.
Η Liberty Media, εταιρία που τρέχει πια τα δικαιώματα της F1, δεν ήθελε να έχει άλλο τα Grid Girls που κοσμούσαν κάθε αγώνα και έτσι αποφάσισε να δώσει τέλος σ' αυτό το... φολκλορικό σκέλος των γκραν πρι. Ο στόχος της ήταν να σταματήσει τις επιθέσεις που δεχόταν η Formula1 από φεμινιστικές οργανώσεις για σεξιστική συμπεριφορά.
Μεταξύ άλλων στην ανακοίνωση της η Liberty ανέφερε: "Η Formula 1 θεωρεί τον χρόνο που περνούν οι ομάδες και οι οδηγοί στο γκριντ πριν από έναν αγώνα ως μια γιορτή, όπου οι επισκέπτες και διάφοροι καλλιτέχνες μπορούν να προσθέσουν στη λάμψη και το θέαμα του γκραν πρι, δίνοντας τη δυνατότητα σε αυτούς που προωθούν τον αγώνα και σε συνεργάτες να παρουσιάσουν τις χώρες και τα προϊόντα τους".
Μόνο που η συγκεκριμένη απόφαση δεν θα ισχύσει για το GP του Μονακό και πιθανότατα στη Ρωσία! Όπως έγινε γνωστό σε αυτούς του δύο αγώνες τα grid girls θα δώσουν και πάλι το δικό τους χρώμα στο γκραν πριμ μόνο που δεν θα κρατούν τις γνωστές τους ταμπέλες, αλλά απλώς θα... ποζάρουν δίπλα στα μονοθέσια.
Η αλήθεια είναι ότι είχαν αρχίσει να μας λείπουν τα Grid girls:
