Τουλάχιστον 5 άνθρωποι έχασαν τη ζωή τους και 25 τραυματίστηκαν κατά τη διάρκεια επεισοδίων στην Ονδούρα πριν απ' την έναρξη του τελικού του πρωταθλήματος μεταξύ της Μοτάγκουα και της Πογκρέσο. (VIDEO & PHOTOS)

Τραγωδία στην Ονδούρα λίγο πριν απ' την έναρξη του τελικού του πρωταθλήματος μεταξύ της Μοτάγκουα και της Πογκρέσο. Τουλάχιστον πέντε άνθρωποι έχασαν τη ζωή τους, ενώ άλλοι 25 τραυματίστηκαν ύστερα από επεισόδια που έλαβαν χώρα έξω απ' τη θύρα 11 του Εθνικού Σταδίου.

Σύμφωνα με την ενημέρωση της αστυνομίας το γήπεδο, το οποίο έχει χωρητικότητα 35.000 θέσεις, ήταν ήδη γεμάτο, παρά το γεγονός πως μεγάλη μερίδα των φιλάθλων δεν είχε εισέλθει ακόμα στις κερκίδες. Η υπεραριθμία προκάλεσε έντονο εκνευρισμό απ' την πλευρά των οπαδών των δύο ομάδων, με αποτέλεσμα να προκληθούν εντάσεις και συμπλοκές με τις αστυνομικές δυνάμεις.

Περίπου 600 αστυνομικοί που ήταν στο γήπεδο, προσπάθησαν να τους απωθήσουν, χρησιμοποιώντας κανόνια νερού και δακρυγόνα, αλλά αυτό το γεγονός προκάλεσε μεγαλύτερη αναταραχή. Όπως δήλωσε στο Associated Press ο εκπρόσωπος του πανεπιστημιακού νοσοκομείου, Μιγκέλ Οσόριο τα θύματα έχασαν τη ζωή τους από ασφυξία και είχαν πολλαπλά σπασμένα οστά αφού ποδοπατήθηκαν απ' το πλήθος.

Για την ιστορία, η Μοτάγκουα επικράτησε με 3-0 της Πογκρέσο και κατέκτησε το πρωτάθλημα.
