Ο Γκάτλιν υπολίθηκε στον Μπολτ!

Ο νικητής των 100μ., Τζάστιν Γκάτλιν, αναγνώρισε με έναν μοναδικό τρόπο την αξία του ηττημένου, Γιουσέιν Μπολτ, στο τελευταίο 100άρι του Τζαμαϊκανού (photos+video).

Το μεγαλείο του αθλητισμού αποτυπώθηκε περίτρανα αμέσως μετά από τον τελικό των 100μ. στο Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα στίβου. Νικητής, για πρώτη φορά στην καριέρα του σε τελικό μεγάλης διοργάνωσης, δεν ήταν ο Γιουσέιν Μπολτ. Ο Τζαμαϊκανός περιορίστηκε στην 3η θέση και το χάλκινο μετάλλιο, ωστόσο αυτό που ακολούθησε δευτερόλεπτα μετά από τον τερματισμό, ισοδυναμεί με χρυσό.

Ο νικητής της κούρσας, ο επίσης σπουδαίος Τζάστιν Γκάτλιν, πανηγύρισε για πολύ λίγο την ανέλπιστη επιτυχία του και όταν ήρθε πρόσωπο με πρόσωπο με τον Μπολτ, έκανε το αδιανόητο: γονάτισε και προσκύνησε τον Τζαμαϊκανό υπερπρωταθλητή, αποχαιρετώντας τον με αυτόν τον τρόπο από τους αγώνες των 100μ.!

Ο Μπολτ προσπαθούσε να δει τον χρόνο του στην οθόνη και αρχικά δεν κοίταγε τον αντίπαλό του, με τον οποίο είχε πολύ κακές σχέσεις μέχρι πριν από λίγο καιρό. Παρ' όλα αυτά, όταν αντιλήφθηκε την κίνησή του, χαμογέλασε και τον περίμενε να σηκωθεί, για να τον πάρει αγκαλιά.

Οι δύο αντίπαλοι αναγνώρισαν με αυτόν τον τρόπο την αξία του άλλου, με τις φωτογραφικές μηχανές να παίρνουν... φωτιά για να καταγράψουν από όλες τις γωνίες αυτό το μοναδικό στιγμιότυπο.
