Ο Γιουσέιν Μπολτ έδωσε τον τελευταίο του αγώνα στην Τζαμάικα και οι κάτοικοι της χώρας κατέκλυσαν το εθνικό στάδιο για να πουν το δικό τους "αντίο" σε έναν τεράστιο αθλητή. (ΦΩΤΟΓΡΑΦΙΕΣ + VIDEOS)

Ο Γιουσέιν Μπολτ είναι ένας εθνικός ήρωας για τους Τζαμαϊκανούς και εάν δεν το είχε καταλάβει μέχρι τώρα μάλλον το εμπέδωσε το βράδυ του Σαββάτου (10/6). Πως αλλιώς μπορεί να μεταφράσει κανείς τις στιγμές λατρείας που έζησε ο 30χρονος σπρίντερ.

Σε αγώνα που διοργάνωσε στην πατρίδα του μαζεύτηκαν περίπου 30.000 φίλαθλοι ώστε να τον αποθεώσουν στην τελευταία του κούρσα στην Τζαμάικα.

Ο Μπολτ έχει ανακοινώσει ότι θα αποσυρθεί αμέσως μετά το Παγκόσμιο πρωτάθλημα που θα διεξαχθεί τον ερχόμενο Αύγουστο στο Λονδίνο και από ότι φαίνεται δύσκολα θα αλλάξει την απόφασή του. Έτσι, αποφάσει να διοργανώσει έναν αγώνα για όλους τους συμπατριώτες του. Ο ίδιος παρά το γεγονός ότι ήταν ιδιαίτερα αγχωμένος κάνοντας μία τραγική για το τεράστιο επίπεδο του εκκίνηση κατάφερε να πάρει τη νίκη με χρόνο 10.03.

"Ήμουν πιο αγχωμένος από ποτέ! Πραγματικά σας ευχαριστώ όλους που ήρθατε να με υποστηρίξετε. Τα πράγματα για μένα ήταν πολύ δύσκολα μετά το θάνατο του φίλου μου (σ.σ. Ζερμέιν Μέισον). Είναι κάτι που δεν είχα ξαναζήσει και χρειάστηκε να διακόψω την προετοιμασία 2 εβδομάδες για να ηρεμήσω. Το ξέρω ότι ο Ζερμέιν θα ήθελε πολύ να το κάνω αυτό σήμερα" είπε αρχικά.

Στη συνέχεια αναφέρθηκε στον κόσμο που είχε κατακλύσει το στάδιο αλλά και στους υψηλούς καλεσμένους που είχαν πάει στο στάδιο να τον δουν ανάμεσα στους οποίους ο Πρωθυπουργός της Τζαμάικα και ο πρόεδρος της IAAF.

"Δεν έχω λόγια για τους Τζαμαϊκανούς… Από το παγκόσμιο πρωτάθλημα των εφήβων στο Κίνγκστον (2002) η συμπαράσταση τους είναι συγκλονιστική και αποτελεί πολύ μεγάλη τιμή για μένα. Δεν περίμενα ποτέ κάτι τέτοιο. Ήξερα ότι θα γινόταν κάτι μεγάλο, όμως δεν περίμενα το στάδιο να είναι κατάμεστο. Σας ευχαριστώ όλους που ήρθατε και με υποστηρίξατε. Χαίρομαι που είδα όλους αυτούς που ήρθαν να με δουν. Σημαίνει ότι όσα κατάφερα για τον στίβο σημαίνουν πολλά και για εκείνους και πραγματικά το εκτιμώ. Σας ευχαριστώ. Ήταν τιμή μου που έβαλα τον στίβο στην κορυφή και συνέχισα την κυριαρχία του. Θα κάνω τα πάντα ακόμα και όταν σταματήσω για να συνεχίσει την κυριαρχία του ο στίβος" ανέφερε μεταξύ άλλων.
